I was so blessed by this message as it spoke to the issues of my heart. God is so amazing! He always sends a word through the Preacher at the right time. And even though many folks were there, it seemed as if that Word was just for me--God speaking directly to me regarding the heart conversations I have had with Him.

This is an awesome way to make a very "Corporate Prayer" into a very "Personal Prayer". Today, I want to focus on "Thy will be done".

Too many times, I want to do things my way instead of letting God show me His ways for me. So today, Lord, let Your will be done in my life, as You have mapped it out in Heaven. Amen.

This book hits the nail on the head when it comes to the mission of the church. There are so many churches, church leaders, church pastors and so many other areas of the Christian faith that focuses much of its efforts on everything but those who are in need, those who are broken, those who are hurting. Richard unapologetically speaks to people in the church challenging them to stop the focus on the self and to begin doing what I call "Just Do Something." Make some kind of a dent in the world that you live in. In this book, readers will be challenged to begin hearing from God on when they are supposed to move, when they are supposed to give and what they are supposed to do. Readers will be moved to do something for someone somewhere. Wow! This is Big!

Sunday’s message was exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve had an idea for a website that focuses on how God can still use us even if we aren’t exactly “Warrior for Christ” material (let’s face it, most of us are actually wimps). I’ve been noodling with the idea for about 6 months but haven’t made much forward progress. Friday (3/11) out of the blue, I asked Joseph what it would take to get a site up and running, but still I was just thinking about it. So when Dorrien kept talking about do something and don’t overthink it, that was my confirmation that this is something I should be moving on.

And in 3 days we have been moving. The tech pieces are falling into place and content has been coming to me like crazy…I’m writing almost every day. The site will be ready to launch by mid April!

What’s even more awesome is that my initial thought was just to do a site that would inform and inspire, but I’ve since decided to use it as a vehicle to raise money. As Bono said in the video on Sunday, don’t ask God to bless what you’re doing, instead find what God is doing because that is already blessed. One key feature of the site will be spotlighting organizations that are doing “good works” and using a “Donate” module to help them raise money.

Dorrien is always telling us to do something but this isn't my story I'm going to share it's a little girl's. This week I was really inspired by Lilly, a 7 years old girl. Lilly's dad found out a few years ago that he has brain cancer. He had surgery but the surgeon could not remove all of the tumor and he had chemo and the fun stuff that goes along with getting rid of cancer. He is doing better but he is not out of the woods. A few months ago, Lilly's mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage 3 because it is in the lymph nodes. Not too long ago, Lilly's mom told Lilly that she (the mom) was going to lose her hair to chemo and wanted to get her hair cut short to help with the process. She asked Lilly to help her pick out a short hair style so they looked through websites and Lilly found a short hairstyle and it was colored pink. Pink is Lilly's favorite color so instead of coloring all of her hair pink, her mother got it cut and put pink stripes in her hair. Lilly and her mom went to look for wigs and they realized that wigs can cost a lot of money, like a couple thousand dollars. Lilly was really upset by this and asked her mom about people who couldn't afford wigs, what do they do. Lilly told her mom that she wanted to raise money for people who couldn't afford wigs. So they had a fund raiser at Mastercuts, you pay $20 to get colored strips put your hair and the proceeds go towards wigs for cancer. Also, Lilly wanted to sell t-shirts to help raise money. So they came up with a design that has the brain cancer ribbon on it and the ovarian cancer ribbon on it with a pink bow on the front of the shirt that says "Lilly's Locks" and on the back a stick figure that has stripes in the hair with a tag line that says "by His stripes we are healed". All of the proceeds go toward helping other buy wigs. The shirts cost $15 so I definitely bought one.

What struck me about this is she is a little girl who was completely obsessed with helping others, she saw a need and wanted to "do something". I'm an adult and am able to do something so I am on a mission to "do something", anything, doesn't matter how big or small just so I'm making a difference and I'm not all talk.
