At Compass we believe in leading our children to be the next generation.
During The Sunday Celebration:
During our celebrations children remain with their parents as we do church together!
We realize that children need to stay busy and engaged, so we have implemented a “Busy Hands, Listening Ears” model to our celebration. Upon entering the building each week, children (ages 1 year-6th grade) are invited to stop by the designated table and grab one of three age-appropriate back packs. In the back packs are toys and activities, as well as a parent take-home sheet and snack, to help your child follow along with today’s message.
We encourage the children to participate in worship by singing and dancing and ask that parents model this by not letting children into their bags until the teaching begins. After announcement, Compass Kids team members entertain the children through various medias (skits, puppets, videos and more) to introduce them to today’s teaching. At this time a Compass Kids team member will go over the activities in the back packs and give any needed instructions.
During the celebration, we know that some children may need a space of their own and have two spaces available. We have a Compass Kids Corner where parents may take their child to play with quiet toys and have a bit more space to move around. We also have a Quiet Room for parents to sit with children. A Compass Kids team member or Hospitality team member can lead you these spaces if needed.
Outside of Sunday
At Compass, we also value the idea of doing church as families outside of Sunday mornings too. The Compass Kids team plans monthly family gathering where all are invited and friends welcome too! From picnics to bowling to ice skating we desire each family to enjoy this time of being together with others!
